These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of petersonmovingco.com and your interactions with Peterson Moving Company through the website. By accessing or using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website.
These Terms govern the website only. A particular move or other service may also be governed by a separate written estimate, bill of lading, service agreement, valuation selection, invoice, authorization, release, or other contract (collectively, a "Service Agreement"). If these Terms conflict with a signed Service Agreement regarding the moving services themselves, the Service Agreement controls for that issue.
1. Website Information and Availability
Website content is provided for general informational purposes. Services, pricing, availability, service areas, schedules, and the final scope of work are subject to confirmation by Peterson Moving Company.
We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the website at any time. We do not guarantee that the website will always be uninterrupted, secure, current, or error-free.
2. Quote Requests and Estimates
Submitting a website form, calling, emailing, or sending a text does not create a binding moving agreement, reserve a date, or guarantee service availability.
Any preliminary quote or estimate may be based on information you provide. You agree to provide complete and accurate information, including the locations, inventory, stairs, elevators, parking or access restrictions, long carries, oversized or unusually heavy items, fragile or specialty property, packing needs, and other conditions that could affect the work.
Pricing, deposits, cancellation terms, valuation coverage, claims procedures, and other service-specific obligations will be stated in the applicable Service Agreement or otherwise confirmed by Peterson Moving Company.
3. Customer Responsibilities
When requesting or receiving services, you agree to:
Provide accurate contact, location, inventory, and access information;
Have authority to request the services and permit access to the property;
Identify items requiring special handling and disclose known hazards or unsafe conditions;
Secure valuables, personal documents, medications, cash, jewelry, and other items that should not be placed with ordinary household goods;
Comply with reasonable safety and access instructions; and
Make payments when due under the applicable Service Agreement.
Items that cannot lawfully or safely be transported may be declined. Specific prohibited-item, packing, valuation, liability, cancellation, delay, and claims terms should be addressed in the applicable Service Agreement.
4. Transactional SMS Program
If you opt in, the Peterson Moving Company SMS Program may send transactional messages concerning your quote request or moving services, including estimate notifications, appointment reminders, scheduling updates, move-day communications, and customer-service notifications.
Participation is voluntary and is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for assistance. We may send one final text confirming an opt-out. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
For help, contact petersonmovingco21@gmail.com, (205) 910-3342, or (205) 617-2122. Information collected through the SMS program is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Mobile numbers, SMS opt-in records, and consent are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
5. Acceptable Use
You may not:
Submit false, fraudulent, unlawful, or misleading information;
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website or connected systems;
Interfere with website operation, security, or another person's use;
Introduce malicious code or use automated means to scrape, overload, or misuse the website;
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your authority; or
Copy, reproduce, or commercially exploit website content except as permitted by law or with written authorization.
6. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the website's branding, text, graphics, photographs, videos, designs, and other original content are owned by Peterson Moving Company or used with permission and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. No ownership rights are transferred to you by your use of the website.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
The website may use or link to third-party platforms, forms, payment services, mapping tools, social networks, or other services. Peterson Moving Company does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, or practices. Your use of a third-party service may be governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy.
8. Website Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Peterson Moving Company disclaims implied warranties relating solely to website access and website content, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
This section does not disclaim obligations expressly accepted in a signed Service Agreement or any warranty or obligation that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Limitation of Liability for Website Use
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Peterson Moving Company will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising solely from your access to, inability to access, or use of the website.
This limitation does not alter liability, valuation, cargo-claim, loss, damage, delay, or other rights and obligations arising from moving services. Those matters are governed by the applicable Service Agreement and applicable law.
10. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Peterson Moving Company and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from third-party claims, losses, or expenses arising from your unlawful misuse of the website, your submission of knowingly false information, or your infringement of another person's rights.
11. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any mandatory law or controlling provision in a Service Agreement, disputes arising solely from the website or these Terms must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in the county in Alabama where Peterson Moving Company maintains its principal place of business.
12. Severability and Waiver
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Revised Terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
